Yes, Keystone XL is in America's Best Interest
Message to Federal Officials
Keystone XL EIS Project P.O. Box 96503-9850 Washington, D.C. 20090-6503 RE: Support for the Keystone XL Pipeline Project: National Interest Determination Dear Secretary Kerry: I believe the Keystone XL pipeline is in my country’s best interest. I urge you to swiftly approve TransCanada’s application and urge President Obama to issue a permit to complete the Keystone XL pipeline. As you know, the U.S. State Department predicts over 42,100 jobs will be impacted by construction of the pipeline. I believe these are important jobs, especially to the construction workers who bolster America everyday by building its infrastructure. I believe supporting jobs is in America’s interest. An analysis conducted by Consumer Energy Alliance found building the Keystone XL pipeline could reduce overseas crude imports by 43%. Considering all the turmoil in the world, I believe it would be in America’s interest to import energy from Canada, a long trusted and dependable ally. The Keystone XL Pipeline will be able to deliver up to 830,000 barrels a day. This is important because it will displace overseas imports helping reduce the Greenhouse Gas Impact of transporting oil from countries in the Middle East. The U.S. Department of Energy conducted a study which found Keystone XL “would decrease” gasoline prices. I am sure you agree, gasoline prices are too high and lowering the price at the pump is important to every motorist on a budget. I am also reassured after learning TransCanada, the operator of the pipeline, has agreed to 59 additional safety precautions. The Keystone pipeline system is safely operating in the United States transporting oil from Canada to Illinois. Based on the safe operating record of this pipeline, I am confident the Keystone XL will be the safest pipeline ever built. I am also supporting the Keystone XL pipeline because of its impact on American energy development. Keystone XL will provide a new, safe route to transport up to 100,000 barrels a day of U.S. crude oil from the Bakken reserves in North Dakota and Montana. Energy development in this region has sprung North America towards its goal of energy self-sufficiency. I believe boosting U.S. energy production is in America’s best interest. Thank you for your consideration and I urge you to act swiftly and approve the final leg of the Keystone pipeline system. Sincerely,
Send this message to federal officials at the U.S. State Department and in the U.S. Congress that you believe the Keystone XL Pipeline is in America's best interest.
